Germany 3 – Portugal 2

Oh how sweet it is. Everybody thought Portugal and their “best player in the world” would make the EuroCup Quarterfinals the end of the road for Germany. Not so much. Thanks to passion, hard work and few inches of height Germany accomplishes a big upset.

Prescription drug abuse rising among youth

My friend Alisha works as a reporter for the Union Democrat – the leading newspaper of the Mother Lode since 1854. She recently wrote a big story about the prescription drug abuse and its sometimes deadly consequences. The article tells the story of Michael McMahon who died of an elixir of a painkiller, Benadryl and alcohol during his own bachelor party.

NBA Champion does mean World Champion

The Boston Celtics have won the NBA championship. Congratulations. A quick comment. Winning an NBA championship has nothing to with being a World Champion. For that you’d have to win the World Cup or maybe the Olympic Games. Otherwise, I look forward to call Schalke a World Champion should they ever win the German Bundesliga.
