Jen, Ben, Corrie and I went to see Tropical Thunder tonight (of course at the $3 beer theatre), following a pre-course that included dinner at rpalete and a few hours of indoor putt-putt. Despite me cheating and a minor incident when I learned that I couldn’t pay with credit card (I actually could and did), [...]
day gone by
by mario on 06. Oct, 2008 in portland
Today, I literally spent 14 hours watching baseball while simultaneously messing around on my laptop. It should be noted that I was far more productive than Otto who did nothing but lay on my couch / in my closet while eating and digesting the designer cat food (no grains for Otto von B.) that he [...]
why i don’t go to the movies
by mario on 02. Oct, 2008 in portland
In these shaky economic times, I think it makes no sense to spend money on movies. And why would you, when your friendly neighborhood fast food conglomerate is giving that sort of entertainment away for free.

After a number of unfortunate events in weeks past, things seem to be turning around with a true comeback story and a surprising reunion.
a day of firsts
by mario on 13. Aug, 2008 in portland
Lately, there have been a lot of firsts for me. I bought my first motorcycle. And it’s red. I brought on board a second writer for my blog, and he’s from Wyoming. I hired a research assistant. His name is Farhan and he lives in India. I fed Otto beans and cheese. Our similar tastes [...]
